HealthMood PHILOSOPHY

Like tiny droplets...

The goal of HealthMood is to elevate humanity by guiding people to a better place mentally, physically, and spiritually. Unifying us with one of the many things that is the same for us all… the need for a healthy life in order to truly live and enjoy it fully! Like droplets into water, the ripple effect we create when we take simple steps to enhance our health and well-being extends far beyond simply the way we look and feel. It grows into every aspect of our home, our work, our families, our communities, and our world.

We're not meant to just coast in our existence, but to thrive, taking full advantage of our innate ability to heal ourselves and others. Together, we can find daily joy in love, peace, and positivity, and it all begins with taking care of the GIFT of our beautiful body and spirit.

MEET YOUR HOST

Owner & Creator of HealthMood

Rachel Mateo

HealthMood: Fitness, Nutrition, Soulcare is my uniquely holistic approach to becoming fitter, healthier, and feel on top of the world. I work one-on-one with clients not only achieve their weight-loss or physical goals, but to bring them into a more lively, energetic and confident state of being. I coach fun, full-body movement that strengthens the muscles, aids in fat loss and supports a resilient nervous system. This combines with dietary guidance that focuses on energy-rich foods meant to heal the body and fuel/replenish properly while enjoying the freedom from calorie counting or strict plans. These aspects are integrated with healing energy work in the form of Reiki, breathwork, grounding, and mental health habits to cater to the relaxation of the nervous system reducing stress on the body and mind.

Rachel is a lover of nature and the outdoors, rocking out to live music any chance she gets, and finding beauty and joy in the little things in life. A true child at heart, her goal is to live authentically and make a positive, loving impact on those around her. With over 20 years of experience in her field, she’s had a lifelong passion for holistic wellness and takes great pride in assisting others in their unique journeys. With her wellness coaching, fitness training, group fitness classes, nutritional guidance, events, women’s wellness retreats, and speaking engagements she’s helped hundreds of women attain their fitness goals and achieve overall better health. She is a graduate of Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Exercise Science, former competitive all natural professional bodybuilder, and a Usui/Holy Fire Level 3 Reiki Master Teacher. Rachel lives in State College, PA with her husband Johnny and energetic pup May.

Bethany Stough

Bethany has felt called to healing as both her life’s work and purpose. Her journey began with a deep belief in the power of food and nutrition to transform how we feel, and has since expanded through training as a birth doula, registered nurse, and herbalist, ultimately leading her to become a family nurse practitioner, earn a doctorate in nursing, and achieve certification as an Institute for Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner. Over more than 30 years, each step has added a new lens and a deeper understanding of how the body heals—and how people can truly thrive. This passion led her to found Synergy Integrative Wellness, where she brings together conventional medicine, functional root-cause approaches, herbal wisdom, and lived experience to support each individual’s unique journey.

Believing that no two paths to wellness look the same, Bethany finds her greatest joy in drawing on all she has learned to offer a deeply personalized, integrative approach to care.

I feel like the world needs more of this open atmosphere and love 💕 - Lana M.

It was a wonderful weekend from start to finish! This was my first time attending the HMWR and I got to meet so many wonderful ladies and spend the weekend in total relaxation. - Maggie

It’s obvious through the practitioner, selection, activities, and location that Rachel puts her heart and soul into every detail of each retreat.
